As both a citizen and elected representative, I am grateful to this local institution and its hardworking journalists and am hopeful for its future. We are facing a crisis in local journalism around the country. 2/

Without experienced journalists investigating and searching for truth, our country’s ability to engage in productive debate and successfully progress into the future is hindered. 4/4
Simply the result of competition. There are just too many alternative sources for news and they are either free or more affordable. Maybe going digital would help.
