To be clear, you're advocating for the UK to lower its food and animal welfare standards so you can export here?

Salmonellosis rates per person in the US are, as far as I can find, about ten times those in the EU. This is just one reason why we're not keen on lowering our standards.

USA has roughly 10x as many cases of food poisoning per head of population. Unsanitary food preparation conditions in USA's inhumane factory farms have a lot to answer for. We don't want your toxic food, thanks.

Great - so that in addition to Covid19, we can all get the squits thanks to the poor standards in the US poultry industry. Well, matey, you can export your infected chicken but we won't buy it.

We won't buy it if we can identify it. But the US wants us to drop our country of origin labels so we can't boycott it. And how can identify it if it's an ingredient in something else?
