  6. Every year states waste hundreds of thousands of dollars drug testing applicants for & every year the vast majority come back negative. These tests waste taxpayer money & strain a program that already struggles to meet the needs of American families.

    In 2016, there were 5,190 workplace deaths & tens of thousands of Americans were permanently disabled on the job. Despite these tragedies, continues to block worker safety rules. Today, on Workers' Memorial Day, we lift up the dead & continue our fight for the living.

    I took to the floor today to remind and the that hunger sees no gender, race, religion, or political affiliation. The Farm Bill's cuts to do nothing more than punish disadvantaged families. This all-out war on the poor must be stopped.
