Rep. Glenn Grothman Retweeted MacIver Institute

Great look at how Dems’ $15/hr. push would harm individuals with disabilities, something I’ve been talking about for years. If Dems had it there way, folks like Christopher would be relegated to adult day care and lose the pride that comes with being employed.https://twitter.com/MacIverWisc/status/1173529041208532993 …

https://youtu.be/c7F7T-gXz58  Eric Wilson talks about his son Christopher, who has Downs Syndrome, but is able to find meaningful work through a provision in the minimum wage law. Democrats in Congress recently passed a bill that would raise the minimum wage to $15 with no exceptions… pic.twitter.com/ttIzaS0iAk

Your tweet is intentionally misleading. First, employers may apply for Special Min Wage License per Section DWD 272.03. Also, you neglected to mention that employers who hire individuals w/disabilities can receive a Federal tax credit through the WOTC.

That is correct under current law. The $15/hr. bill that Dems passed through the House this year eliminates what you've mentioned. -Staff

So, what you're saying is it's awesome that corporations can use people with disabilities as a source of cheap labor?

Our Representatives often make stupid, irrational, and petty claims with no basis in fact. This is a pristine example of one of those claims.

I am a disabled Veteran, please explain how increase in wages will hurt disabled? The billions in tax cuts damaged not only the middle class, but 98% of Americans! Limiting on qualifying deductions, resulted in my paying 1/3 of my income in taxes; most ever in 42 yrs I’ve worked!
