Okay, so, what are we planning to do about it? Perhaps you haven't noticed, but this isn't the only provocative move the PRC has taken recently, and their pace has only escalated over the past year or so. We've done literally nothing of consequence to deter them.

Tweeting a tepid message of support is useless. Propose policies, push for a comprehensive Indo-Asia-Pacific strategy, assemble a working group... something. Anything besides just shaking our fingers at China disapprovingly.
-
or send a fully armed dual carrier strike group to any port of taiwan.

The ONLY concrete action you can do, is to open diplomatic ties with Taiwan and help in the creation of a new Nation which may sit in UN, WHO and any other international organization. This is exactly what you should do! Twitter is not even good to wipe an ass!

If you truly do support Taiwan, sign a new mutual defence treaty and put the SSBNs stationed in Guam on duty to protect the island.

Taiwan is a province of china. It has no right to have any relations when compared 1.4 billion people. No country wants to choose taiwan compared to the newest superpower
-
1.4bn people of China have nothing to do with the independent sovereign country of Taiwan and the 24m free Taiwanese people
-
ofcourse they do. its chinese land since ancient times. if u wanna be free then get out of taiwan. u still have all the stolen tressures from china in museums. thieves talking abt freedom
-
I am free. I am in Taiwan and I'm very free and I will not be going anywhere.
-
You can remain free under one country two systems policy. Just like hong kong you will get to enjoy all the things you like. UNDER Chinese sovereignty and PLA protection
-
haha - looking at what’s happening in HK just makes Taiwanese realise how bad it would be to be part of PRC. PLA “protection”? Haha, no thanks - it would be PLA invasion.
-
Hk has more freedom under china than they ever did as a british colony. But opponents tend to forget that whole thing
-
HK’s freedoms under the 97 agreement are being eroded all the time. Taiwan sees this. Everybody does
