This is such a bad take. I am hiring manager in SV. I'd love to hire qualified US citizens. Tell your kids to get a CS degree. Its what I am telling mine. Stop crying about this and actually encourage people to pursue degrees where there is high demand

My nephew: 3.5 GPA, took two years to get a job at $15 hour. You need to expand your net; they're out there, though many have had to seek alternate careers due to being replaced by lesser-qualified foreign workers. (I'm in HR, saw the replacement daily -no Americans interviewed.)

@Uber is laying off "skilled workers" from office while hiring drivers who are paid less and do not recieve traditional benefits (https://www.mercurynews.com/2019/10/17/h-1b-uber-snatches-up-more-foreign-worker-visas-as-it-lays-off-hundreds-of-employees/ …).
