The Dems' bill H.R. 3 ties Medicare drug pricing to international pricing so Americans don't pay so much more than the rest of the world. The GOP-favored H.R. 19 caps out-of-pocket expenses for Medicare drug program enrollees at $3,100 (still a high price for a fixed income).

The proposal allows Medicare to negotiate drug prices, which would save the taxpayer an estimated $345 billion. If those billions are so desperately needed for “drug innovation” why not just fund that drug research directly?
