I think you're missing the point Fred. It shouldn't be the police's job to change a tire just like it shouldn't be their job to deal with nonviolent offenders. Armed force has no place in these situations.
Police do a lot of good work and police keep us safe in our communities.
Calls to defund the police, and now prisons, are not reasonable.

Yup, isn’t it strange how England and Ireland, at least, manage to get by with unarmed police for the most part. There’s even this guy in Dublin on YouTube who dresses up like a bush & has scared even the Gardaí, with only a laugh in response.
