While George Floyd should undoubtedly be alive today, ripping apart communities and cities is no way to honor his memory. Lawlessness does not beget justice.
The more people harmed by the ongoing violence in the wake of Floyd's tragic and disgusting death only deepens the wound caused by this brutal act.
You repeatedly defend a known racist, who stoked the fires of a race war earlier today with that tweet that Twitter hid. So yeah, this pretty much rings hollow. You sound more concerned with property than people or with fixing systemic racism.
So perhaps the government can spend more time holding police accountable for murder, and spend less time threatening citizens. What are you doing to help hold police accountable?

True focus on the violence and destruction of African American and Latino citizens through police brutality and failed leadership of coronavirus crisis. Congress must defend its citizens, democracy and Constitution now.
