I'm confused wouldn't this be a state or municipality issue? And of course you will study the costs of keeping said teams?

Because Major League Baseball has historically received favorable status from Congress on many issues -- namely its anti-trust and wage/hour exemptions -- it makes sense that this threat by MLB to eliminate 42 teams across the US is very much a Congressional issue.

If MLB cannot run operations without assuming the cost to taxpayers, then they should eliminate money losing teams. Those are the rules of American Capitalism.

No taxpayers are paying for these teams. They aren’t losing money. MLB is simply cutting teams to save money that wouldn’t pay for a backup infielder in the majors. I love people that don’t know the issue, yet assume it is about a subsidy or losing money-it’s neither.
