This is personal for many American families, including my own. My brother had the courage to come out in 1978, when equality was still a distant dream. Matthew's murder is a reminder of the price of the hatred & fear that has touched too many of our LGBTQIA+ loved ones & friends.

I am proud to work with community leaders & activists alike on improving the lives of LGBTQIA+ Americans not just in Connecticut, but beyond. The work we start right here, right now, will have a lasting impact on LGBTQIA+ generations to come. Let's make it count.pic.twitter.com/nA3Xe11Rug
