And how will this bill, that will handcuff and maybe imprison law abiding citizens only, end gun violence? When, pray tell, will our Congress start working on mental health as seriously as they try to take our freedoms from us?

How can a background check imprison a law abiding citizen? This bill also addresses mental health issues & those who suffer from it. Sounds like you don't have a full grasp of the bill. I suggest you read it or make an attempt to understand it before commenting on it.
