Democrats and Republicans in Congress have shown a willingness to work together to defend our border, as we were elected to do. This cannot be supplanted by unilateral executive action.

I took an oath, both during my 20 years in the Navy and now in Congress, to support and defend the Constitution. This unconstitutional action by the President will steal from military readiness in response to something that is not a true national emergency.

Every American who is concerned for the future of our democracy should stand up and say this is not right – and not the will of the people. This is a dangerous precedent and must be stopped.

Meanwhile, the omnibus bill sounds like awful legislation in the short time we've had to begin reading 1,100+ pages of fine print. Sounds like more of the same from Congress. We deserve better than that.

The 9/11 hijackers all entered the Country legally, with legal passports, no wall would have prevented that horrific attack, what it did highlight was the lack of and miscommunication between Gov agencies.

I disagree. The countries security is a national emergency. When you have CARAVANS coming to enter our country anyway they can that is a national emergency. Ms. Luria - do you or other members of Congress have fences around your property???
