This president does not want to end this Shutdown. He does not like gov and only wants a win. Mitch McConnell can end this Shutdown by allowing bills from the house come to the Senate floor. If passed & the President Vetos the Senate can overrule, which I believe could occur.

We all want border security which should involve physical barriers as needed. However, a wall is not the solution and will take years to build & cannot alone address an urgent situation. Border security can be negotiated if decoupled from the Shutdown & gov can be re-opened.

Should the Dem House give in to his demand in exchange for re-funding the government? I know it encourages hostage taking but what can we do? At what point is encouraging hostage taking by the executive an acceptable price?

What is shameful is that Democrats and Republicans aren't working together with the President to find a reasonable solution. Work across the aisle, you said you would.
