If "good guys with a gun" barely made it out alive, and 50 more officers outside couldn’t stop the suspect immediately – what makes you think that a civilian carrying a gun can always defend themselves and others around them?

A lot of the gun debate isn’t about physical actions of gun holders it’s about the crooks knowing in advance people aren’t armed. A lot of violence is thwarted in advance due to knowledge that the public is armed up!
