We true family dairy farms do as well. We feed people at 3rd world prices while paying full retail for everything we purchass. Our backs can't hold anymore

Family farmers want the same thing. They would like to be able to feed the children and provide a roof over their heads that they can afford. But you who sit on the Ag Committee do nothing towards getting a fair price for dairy farmers or curbing the imports of inferior products

Disabled people want these things too. Please don’t support/cosponsor legislation that creates *more* barriers for them than those already existing.

So then why are we funding student loans through FAFSA???? The cost of going to school is only getting higher from increasing demand for loans that don't get paid off

I have that. Definitely dont like that i have to pay half my paycheck in loans each month but it was only way realisticly that i could access the 65% of jobs that require some college or a degree aparently...

The student loan problem became a crisis when the government got in volved.
-
What was the rate of college education before student loans from the government?
-
Does it really matter? Are students better off financially with degrees that plunge them into a lifetime of debt repayment? College is extremely overrated. Most get nothing out of it.
-
yes. 65% of the job market requires them. the best paying jobs usually.
-
So 45% of the market doesn’t require them. And most of the jobs that “require” them only do so because everyone has degrees and they’re looking to filter people out. Those jobs don’t really require any skills that would be acquired through a college education.
-
They require them because it means they start with a certain amount of experience with the field.
-
No. Most of these jobs just require a blanket college degree. Seriously if you feel the student loan crisis is an acceptable trade off for a huge increase in college educated young people, you are totally delusional.
-
Most of them require a specific relevant degree.

We also want common ownership of the means of production
-
hmm no. just pay that rises to account for inflation, housing thats not for profit, and a pension would do. though stock in the company you work at as part of your pay that you keep even after leaving would be nice...

Student debt is a decision. House they can afford depends on where they want to live. Why can’t people work for themselves??? Why does the city of Philadelphia have to worry about these problems?
-
70% of students graduate with student loan debt because no job you can take with just a highschool education can pay for tuition. its around 20k-40k per year depending on where you go
