I think we're operating under different definitions of what a coup is, for starters. They discussed invoking a specific constitutional amendment, which they didn't end up doing. No reports indicate they were contacting military battalions to occupy the capital.

Most importantly of all here - the amendment wasn't invoked. Even if invoking in this circumstance would have been illegal, it literally doesn't matter because they didn't invoke it or attempt to invoke it.
