The coronavirus disrupted educational programs and left students without access to housing, meal plans, or classroom space. Under the CARES Act which was passed by Congress, colleges and universities in our district will receive more than $66 million.
At least half of that will go to students as emergency grants to pay for housing, food, and other basic essentials. This is a huge relief. I wouldn't be attending @UMich if it wasn't for scholarships and financial aid, so having to abruptly leave Ann Arbor and still pay my apartment rent has spread me thin financially when I could be using that money towards groceries.
