The Constitution mandates the President provide Congress with information on the State of the Union and “measures he shall judge necessary.” As I’ve reflected on the President’s address the last two days, I stand with those who are left behind:

An overwhelming majority of the President’s guests were worthy of the honor they received. No one will deny that. Providing hope to a select few will be remembered in the short term. But creating institutions that support all of society will be remembered for generations to come.
