My mom retired on SS.....within a year she had to move in with us due to cost of living increases, especially rent prices.
Social Security was created on a promise. A promise that no one will grow poor into retirement. This is a promise our nation must keep.

Thank you. The fact that we are even having this conversation shows how far as a country we have fallen. Seniors have a hard enough time surviving on SS as it is. We must keep this promise.

We kept that promise. It has outlived its expiration date. It’s time to phase out of it. Social security is not economically feasible. It wasn’t designed to sustain this long. Let it die, kill it if you have to

Social security was meant as step 3 of a 3 step retirement process. 1. Personal savings 2. Investment results 3. Social security. Nobody can live if just social security.
