1. The Social Security Administration will never call to threaten your benefits. It's a scammer if they do. 2. The actual number for Social Security Administration is 1-800-772-1213. We all must remain vigilant to stop scammers.
Correct me if I’m wrong but even if you receive a call from the number you posted you have to be careful because there are ways the scammers can use this number when they call.
I had the same scam. They eventually wanted me to purchase a Google Play card and give them the registration number. LOL! I reported it to the FTC. When I called to report it to SSA, they said they're getting thousands of calls a week.
These calls are annoying but not as annoying as the real government scams.
