Good News for Social Security – next year’s COLA will be 2.8 percent. But with the rising costs seniors face – we need to strengthen Social Security. That’s why I’m co-chair of the Expand Social Security Caucus and fighting to #ExpandSocialSecurity for all seniors.

Please no, entitlements are too big already, we literally can’t afford to pay for what we’ve already promised. Think ahead and get us out of this hole.

It's not an entitlement if you have been paying into it, like everyone has been doing since their first day of work.

That’s not how social security works. You don’t get out the same amount you put in, everyone who qualifies gets a check. In the near future there won’t be enough workers to support Social Security and we’ll have to borrow from other countries. We have to cut spending.

That’s why we have to make sure we get out and VOTE on November 6th. This way if dems take over the Senate and Congress, hopefully Social Security and Medicare can be protected.

We will take the House and they are in control of the purse. SS, Medicare, and Medicaid must be protected.

So needed. So many rely on SS through no fault of their own. Some lost pensions and their small savings to bad business practices or fraud. Some rely on that alone because they could not save as it took all of their income to survive. Thank you Rep. Debbie!

Thank you Rep Dingell-for helping out w/Social Security increase, however-w/rising rents up every yr 3% in rent controlled buildings—more in others-this raise of 2.8% will help out-but not enough-eventually people move into their car. Families don’t exist as in past. It’s SAD.

Medicare part D kills any pretend gain. Seniors had 34% less buying power than they did in 2000-?with inflation on the rise its probably less buying power than that.

We defitely need this. I am 69 yrs old and if anything happens to my husband at 63I won't be able take care of myself. 80% of my social security goes towards my health insurance, medications and life insurance. 10% goes to electricity and 5% goes towards electricity.

More than likely Medicare deduction will increase and take it away like last years COL.
