I'm a cosponsor of the Nurse Staffing Standards for Hospital Patient Safety & Quality Care Act, which would set minimum nurse-to-patient staffing levels, to ensure nurses have sustainable workloads and are able to provide the best possible care to their patients.

On the day that the public health emergency ends, I just tested positive for COVID this morning. I am following public health guidelines and staying home to keep others safe. This is a reminder that 1000 people are still dying of COVID every week and we must all remain careful.

We discussed my support for the Northern Rockies Ecosystem Protection Act. It would designate approx 23 million acres of forests as wilderness, protecting unique ecosystems, allowing for the interconnection of the five distinct ecosystems that comprise the Wild Rockies Bioregion.

Millions of Americans are at risk of losing health coverage due to the unwinding of Medicaid continuous enrollment. We can't allow people to slip through the cracks simply because they don’t have the right paperwork or don’t know what steps to take to work through the red tape.

Joined for Meals on Heels to support their efforts to alleviate food insecurity in our community. Ypsi Meals on Wheels delivers more than 10,000 meals per month to seniors and people with disabilities who can’t shop and cook on their own.

Spring is back, which means farmers markets are too! This weekend I stopped by Dexter, Chelsea, Ypsi, and Ann Arbor. It was great to catch up with so many friends, and if I didn't see you Saturday, I hope to see you at a farmers market soon.

Today I joined the Canton VA Clinic for their ribbon cutting and renaming in honor of Major General Oliver W. Dillard, who served in WWII and became first black officer to graduate from the National War College.
