The United States is a representative democracy in which ~70% of citizens favor the decriminalization of cannabis. Hard to explain how 204 Members of Congress, mostly Rs and a couple Ds, can ignore the will of the people, defy common sense, and maintain such hypocrisy.

Legalizing cannabis has never had higher support among the public, lawmakers, and states. So how hard is it to finally get done? vox.com/22968976/feder

There are similar stats for Voter ID. Wrap those two into a bill, figure out how to have a field test for drugged out drivers with DWI-like consequences, and allow official state ID's at no charge with the proper documentation. You're Golden!

No, we're a representative republic, not democracy. The ones saying no, in theory, are representing what their constituents want. The logic you're using could also b applied to obamacare, the majority did not want it, yet it was forced down our throats in the middle of the night.
