Remarkable speed in giving airlines funding. The deal was that no layoffs would occur. The airlines took the money, laid folks off and Congress stood on the sidelines and watched.

The moment I saw the application and learned about the process it was obvious there was going to be lots of fraud. Why didn't that occur to anyone in govt? How can you do better?

Get 'em Dean. I run a small biz in the district and resented all the people who got PPP money and didn't need it. Hint: There's a lot of them in the investment biz. Some money managers and research firms claimed they were "keeping jobs" while making record levels of revenue

When I called your office, on the first day PPP loans were available, warning that small businesses were having a hard time finding lenders to give them loans, my concerns were dismissed by the Chiefs of Staff at both you offices.
