"We must sadly oppose the fast-tracking of this bill...", wrote Sens. Graham, Scott & Sasse in objection to the unemployment benefit plan in the bi-partisan #coronavirus relief bill awaiting Senate action, arguing it "incentivizes" individuals not to return to work. Thoughts?

You don't get unemployment insurance if you quit a job. Their entire argument is built on a false premise.

So if hospital support workers (not doctors & nurses) can quit there job and make more money while avoiding the chance that they are exposed to a deadly virus - who wouldn't do that?
So now hospitals could face an even worse labor shortage.
Think about it.

That doesn't even make sense, you don't get unemployment if you walk off the job

That's ridiculous and while people may say they don't want to work, in actuality most people prefer to earn money.

As someone who was furloughed and desperately wants to get back to work, those Senators can jump off a cliff. That money isn't even enough to cover a week of my pay.
