Congressman, will you step up to support large-scale, transformative investments in our regional transit system, like Seattle and Los Angeles have approved?

Seattle dramatically improved bus service – and shifted mode share away from cars. We need that to happen here.

What ideas do you have? Where is the data coming from and who is analyzing it? I’m all for data-based solutions.

I’m a Seattle kid but now one of your constituents. Senator Magnusson got congress to pay for 75% of a BART style system in 1969, if Seattle area voters agreed to pay 25%. They voted no. Senator Gorton called it “the stupidest vote the people of
@KingCountyWA ever cast.”Thanks. Twitter will use this to make your timeline better. UndoUndo

Putting the burden on drivers to support other transit systems that make money (BART, ferries) seems inequalitble. The politicians who represent the Bay Area need to come up with a better plan.

Drivers and driving are unsustainable. A pigovian tax is perfect here.

Anything that discourages car usage is good. If we account for ALL the costs of driving like pollution, it’s affect on the environment and the associated costs, plus pollution’s health affects and costs (think asthma), a $9 toll doesn’t seem like nearly enough.
