Trump bragged that he could shoot someone on 5th Ave. and get away with it. Today, the GOP Senate shot our democracy in the back. What we do about it will define us, as much as their vote defines them.https://www.politico.com/news/2020/01/31/murkowski-to-vote-against-calling-witnesses-in-impeachment-trial-109997 …

The lesson is simple: Impeachment is serious, bipartisan, not solely political and needs proper preparation and presentation. Taking a shortcut for political effect and crass partisanship leads to a shitty case. However, I'm sure you folks can find something else before Nov.

The senate can longer refer to itself as public servants but instead as self servants.

Imagine if the hapless house actually did it’s job. Trying to put this on the Senate compounds the shame that America sees.

The Rs took those oaths at the start of the “trial,” after stating over and over again that they are working hand in hand with WH to assure a swift acquittal. Those oaths were stupid, they meant nothing. The entire thing was a sham. No real trial, no real acquittal.

The Senate is "dead to me" as my family used to say. They have long ceased to be a body with anything of value to offer our nation.
