Our hearts are with the loved ones of the U.S. troops in Iraq. The last thing we want or need is a war. To deescalate & protect our service members, we will act in the U.S. House to put more checks in place before the Administration engages in acts of war.https://www.vox.com/2020/1/7/21055928/iran-attack-al-asad-iraq-trump-soleimani …

De-escalation will save lives. Conflicts can’t be dissected into “we did this because they did that and they did that because we did another thing”. That conversation goes on and on without resolution. Preservation of life is most important.

Iran has engaged in acts of war. Should we just roll over and play dead?

So has the US. War should be avoided at all costs. Trump is a maniac.

Good thing you're not President, you undoubtedly would've surrendered by now. . True, no one wants war-- but to tie the hands of the CIC does nothing but embolden our enemies. . Your rhetoric has made things worse, not better. .

Avoiding full-scale war is is no way equivalent to “surrender”.
