        Funny, don't see anywhere there where you say have great knowledge about the subjects they teach. All for diversity, but it can't be ONLY criterion.

        Teacher education is all well and good, but full-time unpaid student teaching is required for a credential (not to mention further tuition for a clear credential), so it’s going to continue to be a profession dominated by those whose families could afford the training.

        I'll translate: Hispanic students should have Hispanic teachers. Black students should have black teachers. And white students should have white teachers. I agree.
