This type of behavior is irresponsible & hurts businesses and consumers. I am thankful for the professionalism of PG&E's rank & file workers, but the management culture has to be transformed. It is past time for CA to look at a new governance structure for its public utilities.
It needs to be publicly owned. We tried for-profit. We need to try a new way where we share a vision of safe and reliable energy as opposed to steadily increasing profits.
The PUC was complicit in this as well. PG&E asked for and was granted rate increases to cover these very such expenses. Where was the oversight?
Please do everything you can to make sure this never happens again. One company should not be able to control millions of customers lights. Make it cooperative.
