We need to put people first in this country. That means having a policy where if you're sick, you can stay home, keep your coworkers safe, and still be able to pay your mortgage and put food on the table.

In the @EdLaborCmte this week, there will be a hearing on the Healthy Families Act, which gives workers the right to earn sick days so they can take care of themselves and their families.
We've done this in Maryland. I've done this in my business. It's the right thing to do.

It's especially important for farmworkers, who often do not receive paid sick leave, and due to their low wages cannot afford to hire childcare.
