Puerto Rico an island of 3.3 million people... dont pay federal taxes..they have a bond debt of $79billion USD and an unmet pension plan debt of $49 billion debt. A debt acquired by mismanagement, fiscal irresponsibility, corruption. Now the Democrats want us to pay that debt.
-
Puerto Rico does indeed pay federal taxes. Most residents do not have to pay federal income taxes, which considering their status as a colony with no representation in Congress, seems fair to me.
-
Only those with income sources outside of Puerto Rico or if they are employees of the U.S. government pay federal income tax ... there are currenty about 23,000 federal employees in island.

After the news broke, Congressman Soto shared that his wife had stopped her “treatment program” and that she had recently stopped taking her medications. According to the report, however, it seems that Mr. Soto himself was involved in the day of boozing with his wife and Mother.

It's pretty clear that he is trying to avoid further corruption, waste, fraud & abuse. Seems like you Democrats are fine with the status quo & shuffling some victim disaster funding into paying long overdue debts. He is simply calling you all on it.
