This is what all the warmongers say whenever the people want a withdraw of troops. "It will hurt our position" "we will go right back to where we were" etc. BRING OUR TROOPS HOME!

Sorry, but it's what history shows. Historically, whenever we've rushed to move troops and resources out of a contested or unstable area, it's ended badly. Both for the people living in those areas, and later for us. I agree, bring the troops home. But do it the right way.

20 years with no withdrawal plan. It's enough, time to go. We will never wipe out terrorism in the ME, staying there trying is futile.

You can still maintain situational awareness with unmanned aerial platforms and overhead without boots on the ground.

Unmanned systems are part of the equation, and that's a part of why we only have 4,500 troops there (down from 100,000) - but nothing replaces boots on the ground, guys like me, who volunteered to take the fight to the enemy on their turf, not ours.
