I'm an oil know-nothing, so help me understand. Oil companies make double digit billions in profit a year. They should be able to make it a few months. The secondary companies: why treated any differently than other companies. Get $ into the hands of the workers who can't work.
Foolish, vindictive, short-sighted policy.
Big oil? No. It is the smaller companies that employ YOUR fellow Americans that will be hurt without relief.

President Trump shouldn’t use taxpayer dollars to bail out Big Oil during the #CoronavirusPandemic.
Responsible leaders would focus resources on medical supplies and struggling workers, not fossil fuel corporations.

Isnt for the companies that make billions, this is for the small to medium sized independents that can’t make any money on $30 oil prices. I work for a huge E&P company and we will not drill another onshore well with the current market. Every job in west Texas is gone for now

It's hilarious how the free market turns socialist in a crisis. It only works when things are right and when it doesn't it's the taxpayer who pays the cost. Then when it's all over time for huge profits again while 99% suffer. Keep it going. It's great. Peak humanity

Tons of small businesses that work on these wells have absolutely no work. Everything has been cancelled or put on hold. The damage done to all Texas Reps constituents is huge! The price right now is crushing jobs in the oil sector. It isn't bailing out Big Oil!!!
