It's the same old factors in play. Democrats count their success based on the ***growing #'s of people*** getting food stamps. Republicans count their success based on the ***declining #'s of people*** who need food stamps. It will never change.

I literally just hit
@aoc with a lengthy variation of this. Grew up poor, in the city, bullied for my skin color, mother worked the system for food stamps and partied all the time. I grew up, joined the Corps, went to war, got my degree, opened a business, retiring after 20 soon. -

I disagree with this, you're advocating a soviet principle, not an american one. Pulled from the soviet constitution: In the USSR work is a duty and a matter of honor for every able-bodied citizen, in accordance with the principle: “He who does not work, neither shall he eat.”

There is a misconception. Food stamps are also for families that are UNDER employed. Unemployment at an all time low... Awesome but many of these unfortunately aren’t high tiered jobs

The new rule only requires a recipient to work 80 hours a YEAR. The working poor still qualify.
