It’s difficult to say the exact impact of a policy that has yet to be defined, but troop withdrawal or decrease in Syria is very concerning. Our small, but effective presence there is key to stabilizing the region and maintaining pressure against ISIS.
Leaving the region and allowing a Turkish incursion could have devastating consequences for our Kurdish allies who have been instrumental in fighting ISIS by our side. Based on what we know now, this move provides no benefit to American national security.
