The President demonstrated yet again he is willing to make a deal. I’m hopeful this will spur serious and thoughtful negotiations. Securing our border is a bipartisan issue. Improving our border security through a multifaceted approach is a win for everyone.
Congress must reach a reasonable, realistic solution to fund our government and protect our border. Governing from shutdown to shutdown cannot be a new norm. Our federal employees should not carry the burden of government dysfunction. Let’s get this done for the American people.

@RepDanCrenshaw why don’t you introduce legislation to keep Congressmen from being paid in the event of a shutdown, with no backpay. The only way Congress will avoid shutdowns is if they cause actual discomfort to the members. Thanks for being a wonderful House member!

Let's reduce the size of government so the shut downs don't hurt so many! There are plenty of manufacturing jobs that companies can't fill so take a job making something and have better job security.
