I don't usually recommend that people watch CSPAN, but Minority Whip @SteveScalise is absolutely worth watching right now. He makes a clear and coherent case for border security. Dems won't negotiate even one dollar, and they are holding federal workers hostage as a result.

Nothing he said was untrue. Nancy Pelosi said the only deal she would make for border security is $1. That's not "coming together." Dan has tweeted before that both sides need to negotiate.

I am sure there are plenty of people in Congress, on both sides, who could agree on a sensible funding package for border security--including smart border surveillance, increased funding for processing asylum applications, keeping families together while status is in limbo, daca.
