GREAT News! Today the announced it will award the City of Charleston a $18.149 million BUILD grant to construct the Ashley River bike and pedestrian bridge.

FINALLY, folks in West Ashley and on the peninsula will have the ability to safely bike and walk across the Ashley River – relieving congestion and encouraging environmentally sustainable, affordable methods of transportation.

In July, I sent a letter to Secretary Chao expressing my strong support for the Ashley River Crossing project. Today is a victory for our community and the countless individuals who advocated for this project over the years!
