Rest in Peace to Jim Brown, a legendary football player who was considered one of the greatest in history. He was also a champion for civil rights who organized a meeting of the nation’s top Black athletes, dubbed “The Cleveland Summit.” He and his family are in my prayers.

Today, Border Patrol apprehended two large groups of undocumented migrants: a group of more than 230 in Ajo, Arizona, and another of more than 250 near Campo, California. Thank you to our men and women in green who are tirelessly working to secure our border.

This morning, according to , ceased their operation of mechanical inspections at southern border ports of entry in Brownsville. This is welcome news, and I’m glad to see we’re getting international trade back on track in South Texas.

So far, DPS inspections have yielded zero drugs and zero migrants. I support DPS and law enforcement. However, the DPS men and women in service to our great State should not be confined to mechanical inspections. (2/3)

Unnecessary and excessive inspections are a waste of time and money. The Texas Department of Public Safety’s (DPS) inspections at the border are purely mechanical (brakes, windshield wipers) and do not include cargo inspections, which are reserved for . (1/3)

Thank you to Rio Grande Valley Sugar Growers (RGVSG) for meeting with me in my Washington, DC office. RGVSG is the only sugar producer in Texas and is a cooperative with nearly 90 farmers growing sugar cane in South Texas. I will continue to fight for South Texas sugar growers.
