July 2018- The Mayor of Sabana Grande - Miguel “Papín” Ortiz - arrested for misappropriation of funds from Dept of Education. Fraud $2.9 million Abel Nazario, Vice-Presidente of the ruling party PNP, arrested by the FBI on Sept.2018 for ilegal misappropiation of Federal Funds.
