In the Chicago area, there are about 34,000 people enrolled in #DACA. They are young immigrants like Beatriz in my district, who came to this country at the age of six. Her parents brought her from Mexico to seek a better life and opportunities.
Despite tough odds, Beatriz graduated from the Illinois Institute of Technology, with no financial aid, all while working full-time. We should be welcoming immigrants like Beatriz, not making it harder for them to succeed.
President Trump is doing everything in his power to further his anti-immigrant agenda. Two years ago he attempted to end #DACA, but the courts stopped him.
