As CVSO I saw overpayments go on for 18 months after veteran notified VA in writing & by several phone calls. Initial mistake made by VA - our bad keep it (Thousands$$). Veterans should know better & set $$ aside - VA pay it back. Over payments preventable but not VA priority.

A disabled Vet, who lives in hardship, requested help 4 times about pharmacy bill without a reply. Instead the VA ordered the IRS to deduct nearly $150.00 mthly from his small SS Retirement Check until it is paid off. Now affording food & required medicine is nearly impossible.
