Change occurs when changes in Earth's climate system result in new weather patterns that last for at least a few decades, & maybe for millions of years. The climate system is comprised of 5 interacting parts, atmosphere, hydrosphere, cryosphere, biosphere, and lithosphere.

Manhattan was under 1 mile of ice 20,000 yrs. ago. The ice melted when the climate changed.
