Chinese pharmaceutical companies produce more than 90 percent of our supply of antibiotics, vitamin C, ibuprofen, and hydrocortisone. Though the United States also imports drugs from other countries, China is the world’s largest producer of active pharmaceutical ingredients.
It must end. It is in our national security interest to ensure that we are not heavily reliant upon any one nation, particularly one that is so hostile to our interests. We need to be looking for options today to alleviate our dependence on China for pharmaceuticals.
I have introduced the #BEATCHINA Act to incentivize these critical drug and medical supply manufacturing companies to move and produce in the United States and/or its territories.

It's not like any of this happened without our knowledge. It's American & EU companies that outsourced manufacturing to China. It was American & EU regulators that approved acquisitions of almost all of the major companies in vital industry verticals by Chinese firms.
What you see in medical devices also happened in the US semiconductor industry. A handful of Chinese Investment Bankers working for American banks set up these deals. It's so clear that they're acting on behalf of the CCP, it's kinda weird that it has been allowed to continue.
Europe has to do the same! So many jobs lost in Europe and the US when they moved pharmaceutical industries to China! Now look at all the big cities in the world like New York, London, Vancouver and so on! Only foreign Chinese investors are able to buy accomodations!
Amen to that! The quicker the better!
