There’s a lot of talk about how @SpeakerPelosi just lost control of her conference over #impeachment. But, you see, it wouldn’t be fair to say she only recently lost control. She actually never had it.

the speaker unveiled at another press conference with House and Senate Democratic leadership? The answer to both is a resounding “no.” She wasn’t able to stop impeachment, which she said she wasn’t for in March of last year. Her conference tied her hands and forced it.

She pretended to have control, putting on theatrical hearings in an effort to legitimize the impeachment campaign. It was all pretend, though.
