Make individual premiums tax deductible. That one change would enable markets to fix the healthcare problem, by correcting the distortions caused by the preferential tax treatment of employer-based plans.

That would not be enough. While health insurance and pharmaceutical companies pay Congress to ensure a disfunctional and profitable (to them) market, things will stay disfunctional. Money in politics is why our system is so messed up. It's messed up by design.

agreed healthy people that take care of themselves do not use the health care services much but paying for a membership and catastrophic insurance sounds expensive if insurance companies only cover emergencies, thats expensive ER bills for the ins co trying to keep premiums lowpic.twitter.com/oLCGo575LP
