Why don't we talk more about Mexican drug cartels?
These dangerous groups terrorize through fear, intimidation, violence, and murder to control the government and bend society to their will.

They murder. They intimidate. Days ago, cartel members wielding machine guns beheaded a group of men directly across the border from Laredo. They put their victims on camera. WARNING:https://twitter.com/RepChipRoy/status/1181248083243470848?s=20 …

Rep. Chip RoyCompte certifié @RepChipRoyWARNING: Graphic Content While Congress appears to have forgotten about the border entirely, human beings are suffering at the hands of dangerous drug cartels. All of the men in the video below were beheaded. In August, Mexican police found 9 bodies hanging from a bridge and 7 more bodies hacked to pieces down the road. Reports from the scene describe a banner hanging from the bridge featuring the initials of one of Mexico's most powerful drug cartels.

They want to control government. What do I mean? Look at the former AG of Mexico’s state of Nayarit. The AG admitted to conspiring with a drug cartel operating in his home state to smuggle thousands of kilograms of narcotics into the US.https://reut.rs/2mFg2EQ

We have a lot of strong allies in the Mexican government who have a lot more to lose than we do. Cartels threaten their sovereignty. It is important to the U.S. and Mexican that we stand together against cartels.

Cartels are bending people to their will.
@CBP reported dashing three stash houses last month, resulting in the discovery of 26 migrants. Cartels are often running migrants in and out of these stash houses as they await payment. These migrants are held and sometimes beaten.1 réponse 3 Retweets 12 j'aimeAfficher cette discussion -
BP agents have shown me videos of cartels beating migrants. They are beating them to within an inch of their lives. They then send the videos to the migrant's family. Why? Extortion. We've seen estimates that cartels and traffickers are making $2 bill running human beings.

I've stood with two teenagers feet from the Rio Grande as they told me they had to sleep in a park in Reynosa (Mexico) while they worked to pay off their fee to the cartels. They also told me they had heard of women who were abused on the journey.

I've stood w/
@CBP agents in the early morning hours listening to the crack of bullets as cartels battle for operational control of our border. This goes on every single day. Congress and the media have moved on as cartels continue to inflict pain and suffering.1 réponse 10 Retweets 18 j'aimeAfficher cette discussion -
It is clear to the men and women of BP and those on the ground that cartels have operational control of our border, which endangers the U.S., Mexico, and the migrants who seek to come here I have a bill to designate certain factions Foreign Terrorist Organizations (FTOs)
