Something has to change. Go to the doctor pay him $50 for the office call get a prescription not covered by ACA, unless you drive 100 miles but by Golly's every month I pay that premium of $1,800

I've been doing this for years, high-deduct. ins. with HSA, priv. pay most bills, rarely meet deduct. But unfortunately, need to have some relationship with ins. co for ins. co related discounts, b/c, curiously, just handing cash to a doc costs more than the paperwork rigamarole

Doing since b/f Obamacare, but had to get a new off-market policy even though grandfathered, b/c BCBS pulled out of my market. Thanks a lot Obamacare, I didn't get to keep my plan. Never did have to pay the penalty for off market, even w/penalty would have been better off

I pay cash for all minor healthcare services and negotiate prices directly with my physician. It’s far cheaper than using insurance, and I have more freedom and options. Insurance is for catastrophes only.

I spent at least 4 hours on the phone today obtaining my 'Preferred' in network price range list... And it still isn't the post insurance rate... But my opaque insurance discounts very little off the posted rate. Now to find something cheaper...
